Insulating adhesive mortar ANSERGLOB ВСХ 40 is used for setting waterproofing layer and also for bonding expanded polystyrene (EPS) boards and rigid mineral wool plates to concrete, bricked, foam concrete, cement-sand, cement-lime, gypsum plaster and other mineral surfaces. Adhesive mortar can be used indoors and outdoors of industrial buildings and residential apartments. Waterproofing layer can be as undercoat for finishing by decorative plasters and putties ANSERGLOB.
The surface preparation is realized according to State Standard of Ukraine (DSTU N B A.3.1-23:2013, DSTU N B A.2.6-212:2016) and State Building Codes of Ukraine (DBN В.2.6-162:2010). Surface must be structurally sound, clean, dry and free from dust, grease, dirt, lime, wax, oil or emulsion paints. Fragile areas of substrate must be removed. Surface irregularities must be leveled by plastering mortar ANSERGLOB BCT 20. Before applying substrates with strong sorption must be treated by one of deeply penetrating emulsions ANSERGLOB and exposed for 4 hours. Before applying substrates with low sorption must be treated by ANSERGLOB EG 62 and exposed from 3 to 6 hours. Before setting protective reinforcing layer it is required to fasten heat insulating plates by rawplugs mechanically. After 3 days of bonding EPS boards it is required to sand the irregularities of surface by rigid float for sanding. Mineral wool plates are not sanded.
Adhesive mortar ANSERGLOB BCX 39 is applied on internal surface of board by strips, when wall irregularity is not more than 5 mm and as heat insulation material EPS board are used. Mortar is applied in strips at a distance of 20 mm from the edges of the plate on its perimeter, and then in the middle. Applied strips on the perimeter must be discontinuous so when bonding the plate airlocks are not formed.
By combined (or beacon) method mortar is applied in the case when the surface irregularities of the walls are till 10 mm and by the project using of EPS insulation boards are required. The adhesive mortar is applied to the surface of the heat insulating plate on its perimeter by stripes width of 50-80 mm and a thickness of 5-10 mm, on distance of 20 mm from the edges. Strips must be discontinuous so when bonding the plate airlocks are not formed. In the middle of the plate, in two, four places beacons of size 150-180 mm are applied.
By solid method mortar is applied when the surface of the enclosing structure is smooth, without ledges and hollows, as well as when used as heat insulation material mineral wool boards are used. Layer is applied on all over the surface of the plate and smoothed by notch trowel or spatula of 10-12 mm notch size. Before applying the base layer of adhesive mortar on the heat insulating material, the surface of heat insulating material must be primed by the same adhesive mortar. While applying solid the adhesive mortar must be removed from the edges of heat insulating material for about 10-15 mm.
In any case, the quantity of adhesive mortar must be such as to bond plate to the surface not less than 60% of their area. Adhesive mortar must not be found on the edge of the boards, the excess of mortar must be removed.

Warning: In case of using XPS as an insulating material, it is necessary to carry out machining with an abrasive material of its glossy surface on both sides before bonding to the substrate. The application of the mixture on extruded foam boards should be carried out in a completely continuous way.

Setting of waterproofing layer.
 For setting of waterproofing layer on the plate surface mortar ANSERGLOB BCX 40 is used by notch spatula with notch size is 8-10 mm, pressed in it reinforcing fiberglass mesh (density 145 g per m2) and then smoothly spackling so reinforcing mesh will be inside of mortar layer on 1/3. Mesh is laid by canvas from up to down with overlapping edges in 10 cm. Average thickness of the reinforcing layer – 3 mm, maximum – 5 mm. Application of decorative protective coating is started in 3 days after setting reinforcing protective layer. Before applying the mortar surface must be treated by one of deep penetrating primers ANSERGLOB. When using extruded polystyrene (XPS) board as heat insulating material before bonding to the substrate it is required to treat both sides of glossy surface mechanically by abrasive.

NOTE

If the bag is marked WINTER, the mortar of adhesive and reinforcing ANSERGLOB BCX 40 is used at a temperature more then 0 °C. During the period of gaining strength of the mortar, it is allowed to reduce the ambient temperature to -5 ° C. The base for the mortar should not be frozen. All the above recommendations are effective at a relative humidity of 60%. In other conditions, the time of peeling, setting and curing may change. When performing works, the facade must be protected from high humidity (rain, fog, snow).

The work should be performed at a temperature of + 50C to + 300C. All the above recommendations are effective at a temperature of + 200C and a relative humidity of 60%. Average consumption of the mixture is 4,5-5 kg per m2 for bonding EPS, 5-7 kg per m2 for bonding mineral wool plates, 4,5-5 kg per m2 for setting reinforcing layer.
Dry mixture must be poured into container with clear water according to ratio 0,22 – 0,24 liters of water per 1 kg of mixture (5,5 – 6,0 liters of water per 1 bag of 25 kg) when at the same time manually or mechanically mixed (by the drill on low revs) to obtain the kindred and elastic mass. After exposing 5 min mortar must be mixed again and used during 2 hours.
